Acclaimed German designer Sebastian Herkner created the Uala table lamp for Serax, an elegant porcelain lamp with a tropical shape. Herkner was inspired by the pleated leaves of Licuala Grandis, also known as the ruffled palm, hence the name Uala. The lampshade was carefully modelled by hand, resulting in beautiful, subtle imperfections. Because of the gentle undulation, Uala seems almost frozen in movement, like a leaf caught in the wind.
