Opening September 12th: Siesta by Hannah Lüneburg

125 Space is proud to announce Siesta, the debut solo exhibition by Berlin-based artist Hannah Lüneburg, opening this fall. Known for her distinctive fusion of intuition, colour, and emotion, Lüneburg invites viewers into a quietly radiant world shaped by memory, gesture, and landscape.

Trained initially as a graphic designer, Lüneburg developed a refined sensitivity to form, balance, and composition—elements that remain central to her work today. Her artistic evolution deepened during her studies at the Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK), where she transitioned fully into fine art, developing a visual language that is at once subtle and striking.

There’s a certain softness that settles over everything during siesta, like a hush that seems to rest not only on the streets, but also inside the body. The world slows down, not out of laziness, but out of quiet agreement. The light becomes warmer; shadows stretch long and still. Windows are half-closed, conversations dissolve into whispers, and time feels like it’s taking a deep breath.
— Hannah Lüneburg

Siesta draws from the artist’s ongoing fascination with the luminous stillness of Mediterranean environments. Through bold colour palettes, gestural mark-making, and an almost tactile sense of rhythm, her paintings evoke warmth, introspection, and a dreamlike sense of rest. These works do not depict specific places or narratives, but instead offer emotional landscapes—spaces to pause, breathe, and feel.

Lüneburg’s creative process, documented and shared across digital platforms, has resonated with a global audience, cultivating an engaged and growing following. Siesta marks a new chapter in her journey, offering an immersive, in-person experience of her deeply personal, yet universally resonant art.
