The Sound of Figures in Suspension: Unbinding the Body
At 125 Space, exhibitions are never experienced through image alone. They unfold through atmosphere, movement, silence, texture — and sound.
Created alongside Figures in Suspension: Unbinding the Body, the exhibition playlist extends the emotional language of the works beyond the gallery walls. Moving between dreamlike electronica, melancholic indie, cinematic nostalgia and soft tension, the selection traces the same suspended emotional terrain found throughout Alexandria Coe’s practice: intimacy, vulnerability, desire, fragmentation and becoming.
The playlist drifts between artists such as Lana Del Rey, Tame Impala, Billie Eilish, Blood Orange, Beach House, The Marías and Daft Punk — balancing softness with tension, nostalgia with sensuality.
Tracks like Art Deco, Eventually, No One Noticed, Dark Red, Ultraviolence and Where Is My Mind? echo the emotional undercurrents of the exhibition itself: bodies untethered from fixed meaning, figures caught between presence and disappearance.
Much like the works on view, the playlist resists linearity. It moves intuitively — cinematic one moment, intimate the next. A soundtrack for slow looking.
We invite visitors to experience the exhibition alongside its sonic counterpart, whether within the gallery or from afar.
Figures in Suspension: Unbinding the Body remains on view at 125 Space until 30 May 2026.
