New Forms, New Voices: Emy Belloy

Preview

Emy is an eight-year-old artist who discovered her profound love for painting at a very early age. From the moment she first held a brush, she was captivated by the freedom of creating something entirely her own, finding endless fascination in the interplay of colours, shapes, and textures. With the supportive guidance of her teacher, Julie, Emy has grown into a brave and curious creator, eagerly experimenting with watercolour, charcoal, and acrylics. Her approach is fearless; she often combines unexpected tones to build vibrant compositions ranging from playful to deeply expressive.

Inspired by the abstract spirit of Kandinsky, Emy created The Magic Seedlings as a vision of growth and imagination. Her painting reflects how she sees emotions - not in perfect shapes, but in waves and unexpected combinations. The artwork captures the beauty of childhood imagination, where even the smallest seed can become an entire universe. For Emy, painting is far more than a simple activity; it is one of the primary ways she explores and understands the world.

The Magic Seedlings was created specifically to be part of an auction organised through a special collaboration between 125 Space and the Mikroi Iroes foundation; the initiative aims to bring awareness to the foundation's vital work supporting children fighting cancer in Cyprus. All proceeds from the auction of this artwork will go directly to the Mikroi Iroes foundation, ensuring that Emy's creative spirit contributes to a noble cause and offers hope to young patients and their families.

125 Space is proud to present New Forms, New Voices, a group exhibition showcasing the work of eleven emerging artists selected from a competitive open call that highlighted the vibrant and diverse talent currently shaping the local art scene.

As a platform committed to supporting emerging talent, 125 Space provides a professional context in which new artists can present their work and engage with collectors, curators, and the wider creative community. New Forms, New Voices reflects a dedicated interest in how these artists are redefining visual language through rigorous experimentation, material exploration, and critical engagement with contemporary conditions. While the selected works respond, both explicitly and intuitively, to urgent questions of identity, place, and cultural inheritance, they remain firmly open to broader global dialogues, demonstrating how new voices contribute to ongoing conversations within the international artistic community.
