Listening to Pulse: The Playlist of Pulse Pop-Up Exhibition
At 125 Space, an exhibition extends beyond what is seen. Each exhibition is conceived as an ecosystem of experiences, where art, sound, atmosphere and emotion enter into dialogue, creating connections that transcend the physical space.
For Pulse Exhibition, this philosophy finds expression through Listening to Pulse, a curated playlist that translates the exhibition's vibrant energy and emotional rhythms into sound. Inspired by the artistic worlds of Tony Green, Laxmi Hussain and Anna Kalinitschenko, the playlist moves fluidly between nostalgia and euphoria, intimacy and movement, softness and intensity.
Much like the artworks themselves, the music explores colour as a language of emotion. From the luminous interplay of light and space in Kalinitschenko's compositions to the intimate blues of Hussain's explorations of memory, motherhood and connection, and the exuberant palette and rhythmic gestures of Green's reimagined American West, each artist expresses a distinct pulse. Together, their works unfold across a spectrum of emotions, from tenderness and contemplation to freedom, optimism and joy.
From the sun-drenched warmth of Champagne Coast and Golden Light to the infectious energy of The Cure & The Cause and Latch, each track carries its own colour, atmosphere and emotional resonance.
First presented at the Aphrodite Amathusia Cultural Centre and now hosted across Splash Boutiques and SAMOx, against the backdrop of the Mediterranean, Pulse Exhibition invites us to experience colour as something alive. This curated playlist continues this dialogue, echoing the changing light, the movement of the sea and the emotions that colour awakens within us.
Listening to Pulse is an invitation to carry the exhibition beyond its physical space, to discover the colours hidden within sound and the invisible rhythms that connect art, place and human experience.
